Just saw a listing for a trailer and wondered if it would suit you - at $3800 it's the lowest priced one I could find - I know it says it's a tool trailer but you could fit plenty of food in it too:

No cheap vans listed though although I will keep a lookout for one for you if I see one for sale parked on the side of the street - I have seen a white one some time ago around Te Atatu/Henderson area I think - the owner was asking about $2000 for it.

love it! The trailer looks mean. We just put an update on the page as to what we are planning with the funds (van/trailer number one target) but will wait a little to see what the final amount is. But we like this, thank you for looking around for us.

Naylar Uisa (mentioned in the article http://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/western-leader/93404491/the-angel-of-west-auckland ) should contact HubWest in Henderson - they're at 27 Corban Avenue (ring 09-838 4820, and ask for Rebecca or Agnes - they're in charge of the food parcel register - homeless people and beneficiaries can go there to pick up food), and they have a register for giving out food parcels, which are actually big banana boxes full of free fruit and veges and baked goods etc that have been rescued from Countdown - still perfectly good to eat, just unsold or a day or two past the expiry date, that's all. I get food parcels from there every week myself, they are very good and friendly staff. =D

thank you Sharon for this info, we also have a food bank at CCF that we can use but it's good to know of the other great organisations in our neighbourhood who are doing wonderful work as well. We will definitely connect with the good crew at HubWest. God bless :)

You're all so amazing for doing this!! I've tried to help at city mission but to be honest it's a real mission signing up - you have to go through a big process there. Plus easier to start in west Auckland I think.
