ROMAC [Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children] restores dignity to children from islands in the South Pacific who suffer disabilities that

Main image

ROMAC brings children to NZ and Australia for life saving and/or dignity restoring surgery provided by experienced surgeons at no cost. Children are accompanied by a parent and are billetted with a family of their own culture for their time in NZ. ROMAC pays for passports, visas, airfares and a living allowance.

Before and after photographs speak for themselves - all surgeries carried out to date have been successful. Further photos and stories are on ROMAC's website - www.romac.org.nz. ROMAC helps between 6 and 18 patients per year depending on the complexity of the disability and available funds.

I'm giving to ROMAC because a Rotarian spoke about it at Women's Institute a few years ago and I was so impressed with the work being done that I give an annual donation. I have life-long disabilities/illness and many years ago people donated lots of money for me to get overseas treatment, and this is my way of giving back. Kath, Te Aroha

Hi Kathleen Thank you so much for your donation. I know that you have already received a receipt from the Spark Foundation for your donation, but can you tell me if the donation had a Charity Number on it and if so, was it the Charity Number of ROMAC (CC45367) or of the Spark Foundation, or neither. If neither, I can send you a formal ROMAC receipt containing the necessary Charity Number to ensure that you get the tax credit that you are entitled to in due course (the Inland Revenue is getting more strict on releasing tax credits without proper receipts). If you would like to communicate directly with ROMAC going forward regarding your donations, contact details are below.
