Sailability Auckland

We empower and inspire adults and children with disabilities, through sailing.

We provide children and adults with physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities the opportunity to sail in safety and to experience adventure and freedom - building mobility, self confidence and pride through achievement.

Through adaptive technology to control boats with a small joystick we can get anyone sailing regardless of their physical Ability. Our sailors have competed on the world stage, while for others it’s a therapeutic experience and they just enjoy the sense of freedom sailing gives them.

Here’s what our sailors say:

“Can you please pass on my thanks to your Coaches and volunteers. It absolutely amazes me the dedication they have. I also don’t think they fully realise the impact their help has on our kids lives. It is not only learning to sail and race, but more importantly the independence and confidence they gain”

“Today I witness a young woman sailing using her toes, she sailed by me as a master of the sea. I have spent a fair amount of time sailing over the years and was humbled by the strength and courage of a young woman making the absolute best of what life has given her”

“I just wanted to write and say how much my son enjoyed the sailing experience on Saturday. In his words “awesome”
