Funds raised help equip every rangitahi in Aotearoa with mental health resources to support their wellbeing, preventatively.
Nationwide
New Zealand has the highest level of youth suicide in the OECD, and depression amongst youth is rising.
Our mission is to save the lives of young New Zealanders.
We do this by providing Te Ao Maori based, preventative mental health resources to youth in schools across Aotearoa.
When funders address youth well-being, they face a choice: keep pouring resources into emergency services and specialist care (“ambulances at the bottom of the cliff”), or invest earlier so fewer young people end up needing those services.
Soul Learning Charitable Trust chooses the latter. We fund the Soul Learning In-School Program because prevention works, it scales in schools, and it’s grounded in an evidence-informed, culturally-rooted model that supports lifelong skills.
Soul Learning Trust raises and distributes funds to save the lives of young people in Aotearoa by providing te ao Māori-based preventative mental health tools.
Our vision is less youth suicides, more happy, healthy young people.
