Louise intensive care
14 July 2026Last Tuesday, 6-month-old Louise came into our with two broken legs. Since then, she's been receiving intensive care at the vet clinic, with both good days and bad days.
Today, Louise became very flat, and despite being on antibiotics, her white cell count was very high. After discussing her condition with veterinarian Dries Meyer, the decision was made to perform an exploratory laparotomy.
The surgery revealed an intestinal blockage caused by a piece of bark that she had likely eaten while trying to survive before being rescued. Thankfully, the blockage was removed, and Louise is now recovering.
Louise still has a long road ahead, and her emergency veterinary care has come at a significant cost. If you're able to help, please consider donating via our Givealittle page Thank you for your support.
