Research has shown that social isolation and loneliness has been linked with increased mortality, depression, high blood pressure and dementia. These are serious issues in New Zealand and not just for our older generations. Social isolation and loneliness are problems that people struggle with right across New Zealand's social demographics on a daily basis.
Surrogate Grandparents can be the bridge that connects generations. By connecting families with surrogate grandparents and grandparents with our children; we can fight social isolation and loneliness in New Zealand. Working together, we can make New Zealand a more caring and connected nation.
GrandFriends NZ busts social isolation and loneliness by linking Kiwi's together to create new family circles.
Funds raised will be used to build a platform that will connect families and surrogate grandparents together. Donations will also go towards the general day to day running of the organisation, marketing materials and website upkeep, aswell as any other purpose as is necessary to run a non profit organisation.
