We want more of our families to be able to access help they need from us, online.
Auckland
Over the last 25 years, TWR has lifted families out of poverty, homelessness and domestic violence. We have 4 houses in South Auckland which can accomodate up to 15 families. We also run education programmes which tackle anti-violence, financial literacy and family wellness. We help a whole families break the cycle of poverty and violence through prevention counselling and refuge.
However, we need your help.
A big thing that’s been on our minds is that a lot of the people we help don’t come to us via third parties - they call us directly. We want to make it easier for people at risk to make their first move online as it’s discreet and safe. We want to build a great, secure website that allows our families to do that.
We also need a bit of cash to tackle our aging tech systems. Charity work isn’t magic - it’s often built on blood, sweat, blue screens, cold offices and buggy computers.
The trust gets MSD funding, but quite a bit of our admin and tech costs aren’t covered by these grants hence why we're starting this campaign. TWR runs an extremely tight, smooth running ship and we want to keep it that way.
The better we can run our systems, the more efficiently we can help those in need, which will in turn secure more funding, better grants and happier & safer families. Even if it is a few dollars, every little bit counts and will help us improve the way we do our mahi.
