The Cake Detective Charitable Trust

Lots of us have memories of our childhood birthday cakes. They might have been made by our Mum's, Dad's or Grandparents. Some came from the infamous Women's Weekly cake book. They all had something in common, they were all made with love and made us feel a little bit special as we blew out the candles.

Some children in New Zealand aren't so lucky to experience this simple yet loving memory. We want to ensure every child in the Waikato feels uniquely celebrated on their birthday regardless of circumstance. The referrals come through the website from caregivers, agencies and charity groups in the Waikato. The children that receive our cakes have often experienced trauma, illness or abuse. Each cake is made uniquely for the child and their favorite things be that Frozen, Batman, Music or anything that they are interested in.

I want the child to know that there are people who care about their happiness and without knowing them want them to be able to share these memories that are so common to most of us. A little bit of love and kindness on their birthday.

100% of the donations go towards the ingredients of the cake and the supplies to decorate the cakes.
