Every Kiwi Kid Deserves a Shot at Something Good
At The Goodtime Foundation, we believe music isn’t just a skill — it’s a lifeline. We provide free music lessons and mentoring to tamariki who would otherwise miss out, right here in our own backyard.
We’ve seen the power of music turn lives around. Kids who were shy, angry, or on the edge of being kicked out of school — now thriving, smiling, standing tall on stage. What changed? They found their place. They found their people. They found music.
This isn’t just about learning chords or rhythms. It’s about building confidence, character, and connection. Our tutors do more than teach — they mentor. They show up, listen, guide, and inspire. For many of these kids, it’s the first time someone’s truly believed in them.
We’re a grassroots, boots-on-the-ground organisation based in Lower Hutt, doing the mahi with whānau, schools, and community. The tamariki we support are carefully chosen by their school principals — kids who are doing it tough, often from under-resourced families, and who need a hand up, not a handout.
But we can’t do it without your help. If you believe in giving every child a fair go — this is your chance to back something real.
