Auckland
In the face of alarming self-harm and suicide statistics please give New Zealand’s children the gift of resilience and positivity. We are proud to partner with the Tania Dalton Foundation to support health and wellbeing across New Zealand through our Education Programmes in schools.
We can't ignore :
Our teenage suicide rates are amongst the highest in the OECD.
Our young people are increasingly responding to mental distress by self-harming
One in five young people are affected by depression.
One in five young people meet the criteria for an anxiety disorder.
Two thirds of those who suffer from mental ill health will not seek help.
The Covid-19 pandemic has only made things worse and we are facing a new pandemic of psychological distress among our youth. Protecting the mental well-being of our children is now a matter of urgency.
How can you make a difference to the mental health of New Zealand’s tamariki (children) and rangatahi (youth)? Just $20 will provide a full year of well-being lessons at school for a child. These lessons align with the NZ Curriculum and teach positive mental health strategies to children in Years 1 - 8. This covers all school teaching resources including a personal student journal containing 30 interactive exercises.
