CanBead runs beading workshops for people experiencing illness, trauma and loss. CanBead is a charity that works alongside other charities.
Nationwide
Your generous donations help CanBead continue offering support to people navigating illness, trauma and loss, along with their families and friends. Through our workshops, we simply try to provide a safe space where creativity can offer comfort and connection during difficult times.
Creative therapy serves many different communities - children, teens, adults and seniors facing challenges like illness, anxiety, depression, family difficulties, grief, addiction, disability, mental health struggles, trauma, eating disorders and other life hardships. We're grateful to be able to incorporate creative therapy principles into our beading workshops, though we recognise we're just one small part of each person's healing journey.
About us
CanBead exists to support those affected by illness, trauma and loss. We offer free workshops where participants learn to create jewellery - not as a cure or solution, but as one way to find moments of peace and purpose. We know that healing looks different for everyone, and we're honoured when people choose to spend time with us.
We rely entirely on the kindness of donors and grant providers to keep our doors open.
Use of funds
We currently serve 6 regions across New Zealand and hope to gradually expand our online offerings to reach people in more remote areas. Every dollar helps us take one small step toward supporting more people who might benefit from what we offer.
We are a non-profit charity based in New Zealand, offering free creative therapy workshops for individuals experiencing illness, trauma, and loss. The workshops focus on beading crafts and offer a variety of items such as jewellery, bag tags, suncatchers, and bookmarks. Our charity aims to reach a wide audience; therefore, we collaborate exclusively with other charities around New Zealand. Our workshops are all-inclusive, non-judgmental spaces to create, gather and make friends.
