At Thumbs Up Charitable Trust, based in Petone, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults living with significant intellectual and physical disabilities. Operating a comprehensive day program 47 weeks a year, 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday, we proudly serve 22 individuals, providing them with opportunities to lead full and fulfilling lives.

Our commitment is rooted in the Enabling Good Lives approach, which emphasizes the needs, aspirations, and ongoing development of our members. By fostering increased choices and empowerment, we strive to provide our members and their whānau with greater control over their lives, ensuring equal opportunities to achieve their ambitions.

We employ a person-centred, goal-based approach that focuses on community participation and engagement. Our diverse program encompasses goal development, independence building, new experiences, health and wellbeing, and most importantly, having fun. Our activities range from sailing, music therapy, Menzshed, to social outings at cafes and museums, and much more.
