The Toy Library Federation of New Zealand is the national body connecting nearly 160 volunteer-run toy libraries across Aotearoa, so every tamariki has fair access to the lifelong benefits of play.

Our role: Unlocking access to play

We're not a toy library ourselves. Our role is to do the national-level work no single toy library can do alone: advocacy, shared infrastructure, and sector leadership, so local toy libraries can keep running for their communities.

Every tamariki in Aotearoa should have equitable access to the lifelong benefits of play and we recognise that currently, that's an aspiration. That's the gap we work to close.

‣ Advocating for toy libraries to be recognised, valued, and funded

‣ Shared services like insurance and funding support that individual toy libraries can't set up alone

‣ Building the evidence base that makes the case for play as essential infrastructure, not a nice-to-have
