Auckland
Give a little to the Tread Lightly Charitable Trust and you will be supporting an award-winning organisation which teaches primary school students about the environment (te taiao).
Our mobile classrooms visit Auckland schools to inspire young people to take action to help reduce pollution, stop species loss and conserve the wellbeing of planet Earth for themselves and for future generations.
As part of their ‘tread lightly’ experience, students make pledges to downsize their environmental footprint and involve their families in implementing them.
All teaching programmes combine Western science with Mātauranga Māori perspectives and provide students with an inspiring and enjoyable experience that cannot be replicated in the classroom.
Established in 2007, Tread Lightly has made more than 300 school visits and more than 80,000 students have attended Tread Lightly programmes.
