Taranaki

The aims of the Taranaki Safe Families Trust are:

• To raise awareness of family violence issues in the Taranaki Region.

• Undertake education and promotion initiatives on the prevention of family violence in the Taranaki Region.

• To increase the effectiveness of family violence services by supporting collaboration between agencies.

• To assist with the strategic development and planning of family violence initiatives.

There is an increased awareness that family violence is a serious problem with a devastating impact and that we can all be part of the solution. The campaign has built a momentum which needs to continue in order for the change to take place. With your help we can do so much more.

Update from the Taranaki Safe Families Trust  5 September 2013

We're busy here at the Taranaki Safe Families Trust planning events for White Ribbon Day. White Ribbon Day offers men the opportunity to be part of the solution to ending violence towards women. Violence is endemic within New Zealand with one in three women experiencing violence from a partner in their lifetime, with an average of fourteen women being killed each year by a member of their own family. To get in involved in any of these events following us on Twitter or Facebook for updates: https://twitter.com/TaranakiSFT https://www.facebook.com/taranakisafefamilies
