Youth

TS Leander Sea Cadet Unit provide young people aged between 13 and 18 years with a variety of skills including leadership, sailing, marksmanship and seamanship in an environment of military discipline. While it has Navy support it is run by volunteers, parents and the community and needs funding to ensure it can continue to operate. Over the years TS Leander has provided many including Sir Peter Blake with the skills to build strong and resilient lives.

Use of funds

Along with camps, training exercises and events, the Unit has to maintain its sailing boats and rescue craft to ensure it operates safely. Funds will be used to ensure the safe operation of the Unit and ensure that costs to parents do not become a barrier to cadets
