The Kainga Noho Project consists of four newly designed residential boarding homes that provide a supportive Maori Catholic environment for students of Hato Petera College. The Kainga Noho Project promotes academic achievement while maintaining and enhancing Maori identity, language, and culture.
The Residential Youth Development Programme is an integral part of the Kainga Noho experience. Students participate in educative, social, and health related activities that encourage leadership and academic success. Recent Trust initiatives also include Te Umanga Oranga Health Science Academy, Te Umanga Whakauwhi Tangata Hospitality Programme, Whakaruruhau Maori University Student Accommodation, and the Academic Mentoring Programme.
