Helping communities make Tāmaki Makaurau’s inner west suburbs a place where native birds, lizards and wētā thrive.
Auckland
Urban Ark – Manawa Taiao supports community groups across inner west Tāmaki Makaurau creating healthy habitats where indigenous flora and fauna thrive. These groups trap rats, stoats and possums, remove pest weeds and plant native vegetation. We encourage people to work with our local groups, but there are other ways to help.
Don’t want to touch a rat? Hate weeding? Time poor? You can still support out cause by donating to Urban Ark, either once, or on a regular basis.
Donate $10: we can supply a free RAT TRAP and safety tunnel to a backyard trapper or a reserve group
Donate $50: we can buy a POSSUM TRAP for our trap library, where people borrow equipment as needed.
Donate $100: funds a DOC200 stoat trap
We enable and support the work of various community conservation groups seeking to enhance native biodiveristy across inner west Auckland through trapping, weeding, native planting and advocacy.
