Help us give Voice to those in our community who are often unseen and unheard.
Wellington
Voice Arts is a unique creative space that supports the social and emotional wellbeing of under-served communities. We provide free access to drama-based creative programmes where participants find their voice, their story and develop the skills to share both.
We do not have a bricks and mortar space, we do not ask people to come to us. Instead our programmes are delivered to people within their own neighbourhoods, using existing community spaces that are familiar and accessible.
Our programmes are led by theatre practitioners trained by Voice Arts in use of applied improvisation, devised theatre, and storytelling. We work with older people, including those living with dementia. We also focus our work on supporting the cultural development of former refugee / new migrant youth, their parents and grandparents.
We develop creative story-making and performance projects. Our work is accessible to all and facilitates active participation, self-discovery, connection and wellbeing.
