To assist the Community Kitchen project we need to purchase kitchen equipment and staple foods. Target to reach $5,000
Wellington
The Wairarapa Community Kitchen provide FREE meals to people facing a short term emergency within our region. These people come from all walks of life including working poor, homeless, people who have undergone surgery and don't have community support, women involved in domestic violence incidents, people needing nutritional dietary support and natural disasters in homes eg fire, flood.
Community volunteers work in teams to cook meals from donated ingredients which would otherwise go to waste\or into our landfill. These meals are then frozen and distributed via agencies who are supporting the family or individual. This year we have experienced a significant increase in demand for these meals, already surpassing last years 12 month allotment.
Wairarapa Community Kitchen is a project initiated by the Wairarapa Community Centre Trust to provide free meals to those facing a short term emergency. This is a community lead project.
Thank you very much for your generous donation. Your gift has come at a time when demand on emergency meals is very high. Thank you for enabling us to continue to serve our most vulnerable in the Wairarapa.
Thank you very much Vince for your kind donation. This will go towards supporting a great community need. Kind regards Bev Jack Centre Manager
