Waitara Foodbank Pataka Kai

Waitara Foodbank Pataka Kai

A little Foodbank making a big impact! We run our service according to the needs of OUR community. A safe, positive and welcoming place.

Waitara, Taranaki

At Waitara Foodbank pataka Kai we strive to meet the immediate needs of our clients today, while offering the knowledge they need for tomorrow, to be resilient and self sufficient.

Our parcels are individually designed for each whanau needs.

We are connected to many other community groups, foodbanks and businesses and pride ourselves on the impact these relationships have for us all.

We work with other services such as budget advice drug and alcohol services and other local services.

We run free community cooking classes and have a Kai resilience plan to work on , including workshops and hopefully a community garden aimed at bringing the community together, educating and promoting good healthy practices.

There are very few funders who fund Kai. We are super lucky to have majority of our operating costs covered, but rely hugely on donations from the public to purchase food.

All funds raised here will go directly to purchasing the Kai we struggle to get donated, which generally is Vegetables, Fruit, Meat and Toilet paper!
