Support Warkworth Museum to future proof its facilities and share its collections and stories in an interesting and meaningful way.
Warkworth, Auckland
Warkworth Museum is set in the beautiful Parry Kauri Park. Our collections cover Warkworth and the wider Rodney area and we are proud to be a well-established community organisation, which is volunteer-led. We receive no formal funding.
It is important to us that our museum remains relevant in a changing world and that the area’s history, collections, artefacts and stories continue to be looked after and shared with our community in an interesting and meaningful way.
Over the last five years, the museum has been through a growth and development period with improvements made attracting more visitors.
We are now preparing for future demand for our services and began a future proofing project to bring our main museum building up to current building and fire code which should be completed by December 2024.
The second stage of the project is to install a lift allowing internal access to our upstairs displays, facilities, and resources including our Archive and Research Centre and Textiles Department. We have started fund raising for this work which we want to begin in 2025-26. Further work like a new roof is planned when the lift has been installed.
Your donation to help will be gratefully received and will help us achieve our future proofing goals
Set in the Parry Kauri Park, the Warkworth Museum opened in 1980 with the aim of preserving and sharing the history of Warkworth and its districts. Our museum now cares for over 20,000 items ranging from archival material, textiles and objects.
