WELLfed provides free cooking classes for parents based in Porirua East. Our adult Learners practise how to plan, shop, safely prepare and cook low-cost healthy meals, with a strong focus on seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables.
Your donation can help WELLfed teach and empower local families in some of the following ways:
- $10 provides one meal taught and taken home
- $40 provides printing and class materials for one Learner
- $100 funds a term of teaching and meals taken home for one family
- $400 provides 3 terms of teaching and meals taken home for one family
- $1,000 will fund whole term for ingredients 10+ Learners
WELLfed relies on volunteers to help at classes with childcare and clean up as well as with background tasks such as recipe testing.

I hope this will support your endeavours in teaching the community sustainable ways to manage food & money. These skills are invaluable and often under-rated. Not to mention, not typically gained from formal education! I am a b sustainability advocate and promote local and veg produce but I understand sometimes that is not culturally appropriate. Either or I think you are doing a fantastic job and please continue to do so.
