The Humorous Arts Charitable Trust Board

Every dollar helps us cover essential costs, support our talented performers, and continue to offer affordable entertainment for all.

Wellington

In these challenging times, the rising cost of living and reduced funding are making it increasingly difficult for arts organisations like ours to survive. For over 14 years, the Humorous Arts has created safe and supportive environment for comedians to thrive and learn. Bringing audiences all across the motu together, through the power of laughter.

In our home town of Wellington, we are the largest comedy producer in the region. In 2023 we ran 130+ shows, starring over 250 comedians, for 6.5K audience members. Put that back-to-back and that’s two-weeks solid of entertainment, or filling the Opera House nearly 5 times over.

We also produce Laughs on Tour across the country, reaching smaller communities in regions who may not have the opportunity to experience the joy of live comedy. We take comics as far north as Kerikeri and as far south as Invercargill.

But now, we need your help to continue this mission. The financial strain is real. Without your support, our ability to continue offering high-quality, inclusive, and diverse comedy performances is at risk. Every dollar you contribute will help us cover essential costs, support our talented performers, and continue to offer affordable, high-quality entertainment for all.

Please, donate today and be a champion for the arts. Together, we can keep the laughter alive.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
