Keep the Wellington Pride Parade vibrant and safe for everyone!
Wellington
The Wellington Pride Parade is a cornerstone of our capital's identity—a joyful, defiant celebration bringing over 15,000 people onto the streets to celebrate and advocate for Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s Rainbow communities.
Organised entirely by volunteers through the Wellington Pride Parade Trust, this event is run for the community, by the community. While our committee gives their time freely, delivering a safe, major street parade in the heart of Wellington carries substantial operational costs.
Every dollar raised protects the grassroots spirit, safety and accessibility of the day:
Safety & infrastructure: Road closures, permits, traffic management, first aid and security to keep every participant and spectator safe.
Valuing our talent: Fair pay for our local drag royalty, musicians, dancers, and queer creatives who make the parade unforgettable.
Accessibility: NZSL interpreters, accessible viewing areas, low-sensory rest zones, and accessible portaloos so everyone can take part.
Community participation: Free or heavily subsidised entry for local community groups and charities so cost is never a barrier to marching.
Whether you can give $10 or $500, every contribution ensures our capital remains vibrant, loud and proudly inclusive. If donating isn't possible right now, sharing this page with your workplace, friends and whānau makes a massive difference.
Thank you for helping our community stand tall.
Let's celebrate Wellington's diverse cultures and our Rainbow people.
