Wild Whiskers Tauranga

Wild Whiskers Tauranga's Mission is to rehabilitate & rehome true strays & wild kittens 8 weeks old & younger.

Bay of Plenty

Wild Whiskers Tauranga is a registered charity, a not-for-profit group of volunteers whose mission is to rehabilitate true strays and wild kittens eight weeks old and younger. Once we are sure that they will become great pets we desex, vaccinate, microchip, flea and worm and put them up for adoption. We take a multifaceted approach to true strays and wilds; our first responsibility is to kittens 8 weeks old and younger that come to us needing our time, patience and care. We are committed to providing the best possible care while giving these poor souls a chance to become loving family pets. The majority of our kittens come from living on the streets, on farms or orchards and have had a rough start to life. Because our fosters are the backbone of Wild Whiskers Tauranga it is our goal to provide the best experience as possible. We provide everything necessary including advice and support.

We also serve our community by providing information with regards to trapping, neutering, releasing (TNR- with volunteers feeding), or trapping, euthanasia, disposal (TED), depending on the circumstances of each individual. We are all about stopping the cycle of unwanted litters but rely on solely donations, to make our work possible.

Funds are needed for veterinary fees for sick and injured animals, desexing, microchipping, humane euthanasia of animals too unwell to save, special kitten formula and gastro intestinal food, worming, de-fleaing, kitten food, humane traps etc.

Thank you so much Hazel & Paul, your money will be put to good use by the charity and will spur me on in my times of doubt, discomfort and probably despair! (besides all that I really am looking forward to the challenge of doing the walk, it is haled as the best one day hike in NZ). >^x^<
