To continue having a space to support kiwi authors, run writing groups and holiday programmes we need help to pay for the rent and power.
Wellington
Based in Upper Hutt Writer’s Plot Readers Read bookshop only stocks NZ authors, mainly from independent publishers. We have a shop located opposite the Upper Hutt Railway station which gives the authors and small publishers a space to display their products/books. Run by volunteers we are a not-for-profit incorporated society committed to supporting and promoting home grown kiwi talent of all ages.
Having the physical bookshop also provides a space for writing group meetings, school holiday writing courses, help with editing and publishing, supporting writers and authors at all stages, and providing literacy skills to those who require help. Much of the work we do is free or has a token cost and we do not make enough to cover all the bills (power, rent, phone), relying on grants, volunteer support and donations.

At this time we need funds to cover the monthly rent and power costs specifically for July/August.
