Keep up the good work. I read recently that women have a 4:1 ratio greater than men at contracting an autoimmune disease like MS, Chrohn’s, Lupus etc and immune dysfunction disorders like fibromyalgia and ME/CFS. Unbelievably in the past decades many women were sadly dismissed as suffering from hysteria, the latter two illnesses some still are! It turns out that hormones do interfere with cytokines (immune messengers) that sometimes trigger devastating auto immune and immune dysfunction diseases. Women have much more hormonal activity which helps explain why there’s the 4:1 ratio discrepancy in gender with these diseases. Making it a women’s rights issue, especially so for the little researched Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS diseases.
