YETI Nepal

  • We're getting down and dirty in the name of fundraising!

In May three brave and intrepid YETI supporters - Gunilla, Phillipa and Linda will undertake the gruelling 6km obstacle course known as the Tough Gal challenge.

We're doing this all for a fantastic cause - to raise NZ$600 for YETI's latest project in Nepal - a community learning centre. YETI is undertaking the development of the centre with its partners Umbrella Foundation Nepal. The centre will provide a safe space for homework, literacy projects, computer education and mother and baby health and education.

The Tough Gal challenge requires us to put our bodies on the line and crawl through mud, haul ourselves up hillsides and wade through ponds of freezing water. We're doing the hard yards - all we ask is that you provide us with encouragement and a small donation.

We've done the training - Gunilla has cycled around the world. Phillipa runs up and down mountains, and Linda ... well, every team has a weak link ....

So please support Team YETI and help us reach our goal of $600 which will go towards the YETI Learning Centre.

Photo shows Linda and Pip looking clean and tidy in Nepal. They won't look like this when they cross the finish line!

YETI presently supports five students at different levels of study throughout Nepal.

Saiman, Oju, Sangita and Alisha are studying at college while Anjali is about to begin her Year 11 studies.

Subjects range from computers, business, environmental studies and social work.

Our students are advocates for their communities and use their education to benefit their communities upon completion of their studies.

Your assistance, through donations, helps us to help them achieve this education.
