ABOUT THE FILM

3Roads is a character-driven Drama-Crime feature film about Mike, Matt and Peter, 3 young men who are fresh out of school with a wayward sense of direction in life and a desperate need for money. Mike devises a plan that's quick, easy and where no-one gets hurt - the perfect crime. But during the execution of the plan, things go wrong. A shot is fired, resulting in the accidental shooting of a man. The boys escape the scene quickly and promise that they will never speak of the incident ever again.

Their secret stays silent until a witness comes forward and depicts details of the suspects. The story is spread throughout the media, they see it on the TV, hear it on the radio and read it in the newspapers. As the interest in the case escalates, the threat of their capture is drawing closer. The guilt eats away at them, they’re constantly being haunted by recurring nightmares of the sound the man made as he lay dying. The remorse of their sin begins to consume their very existence, so the boys decide to take matters into their own hands.

WHY SHOULD THIS FILM EXIST?

The inspiration for '3Roads’ is the time of your life when you’re in the situation that you could not get out of. Many young people have been on this path simply because of peers, and lack of understanding and guidance. It’s that time of your life where you have mingled with people that you call family simply because you didn’t feel like that you belong to anyone but that certain group. So we wrote about the 3 boys who lived in South Auckland who had been in the same situation and evolved the story from there.

The journey is about understanding the situation. ‘3Roads’ will take the audience back to the time in their life where they made a certain decision that lead them to where they are now. It makes them wonder what if they’ve gone this way instead of the other, for the upcoming generation it’s certainly something that will inspire them to give hope, encouragement and to see a different perspective in life.

ABOUT US

Richard Allan Litt

(Producer / Director)

I got hold of a camera at the early age of ten; my enthusiasm from then on began to expand. I experimented with angles, lights and colours to determine the boundaries of exposure and composition. After finishing film school and completing a photography course I devoted myself to my passion. My goal is to express the aesthetic visual into a story. I also enjoy the writing and editing aspects of film, and have worked on various music videos alongside Corey (Director and Editor) as well as working in short films and different TV series such as Spartacus and Power Rangers. My experience within the film industry; both in front and behind the camera have given a unique insight into all aspects of film. With my devotion to my passion for film I have become increasingly driven and more dedicated to my goal.

Corey Fleming

(Director / Editor)

My interest in film started at a very young age. In my youth, I was interested in documenting the life and antics of my family, friends and the world around me. I picked up the family camera and started making short films using family and mates with a particular interest in skateboarding and stunts. Since then I’ve followed his love for directing and editing, moving into genres that have influenced and affected me. I progressed into working on various TV productions, music videos and filmed many other forms of media. I went on to win audience favorite at the Big Mountain shorts in 2008, and I’ve worked with artists such as Blindspott, Laybaq , Watercolors and many other established and up and coming New Zealand bands. With influences from Michel Gondry to David Lynch I create the most unique videos I can within the available budget, and strives to make my own personal mark in the film industry and to stand out from the rest.
