Help your NZ champions get over to Swaton, England for the WORLD Egg Throw and Catch Championships!
Auckland
**Beware: the following contains puns**
This year, we competed in the NZ Egg Throw and Catch Championships in Palmerston North at the NZ Rural Games.
We tossed against the best in the business: we had Dame Valerie Adams, Marc Ellis, Jacob Oram, Brent Newdick, ex-MLB baseballers and current Southern Stags cricketers all vying to be crowned best tossers and catchers in the land of the long white cloud.
Where the others finished with egg-on-their face, in true-blue underdog fashion we scrambled to win the NZ Egg Throw and Catch title by eclipsing the last mark of 55m. Admittedly, last year we threw 63.1m, smashing the previous NZ record set by Jeff Wilson and Justin Marshall the year before, only to be beaten by Brent Newdick and Luke Wainui the very next throw, by 30cm. Yolk-kidding me (that joke was a stretch...)?!
We are a young pairing, with a lot of squak in us. We truly believe we can bring home a WORLD RECORD at this year's World Egg Throw and Catch Championships.
We are looking to raise funds to fly over and compete at the World Egg Throwing Federation, based in Swaton, England on 26 June 2017. BRING IT ON!
The world record is 76.27m. This year, we unofficially threw over 70m in miserable Palmerston North conditions. In impeccable conditions, it's fair to say that the world record is certainly within our reach and we would relish an opportunity to toss on the biggest stage.
The future of egg throw and catch is limitless. We see ourselves cracking on and travelling the world to prestigious Egg Throw and Catch Championships in each country and competing with the very best.
We would be hugely grateful if you could pledge for this cause. We are willing to discuss sponsorship opportunities and promotional activity...
Should we reach our goal, we will show all of our pledgers and fans our exploits on social media and keep everybody up-to-date with the latest grabs and scrambles on our way to the World Championships.
If you could *tweet*/share this with your friends, we would greatly appreciate your help.
