Thane and Dunc will now start working on all the planning and details of the upcoming search and will update you regularly.
Thank you once again for all your support.
-------------
After Australian investigator Peter McMahon found what he believes to be the wreckage of missing flight MH370 via satellite imagery, we want to do our bit in the search for the missing plane.
We are aware that The Rock is known for our pranks and jokes but we can confirm that our intentions here are 100% genuine. Thane has followed the story of MH370 for four years and this fundraising effort is simply a way for us to do our bit in the search for the wreckage of the plane and to try and bring some closure to the family and friends.
Peter has provided us with the coordinates of the location in which he believes MH370 to be resting. We need your help to get Thane and Dunc to Mauritius to determine if Peter’s investigations into the whereabouts of the wreckage are correct.
For more information as to Peter's story, check here - http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12015493
And here are the details of how he talked to Thane - http://www.therock.net.nz/home/shows/thane---dunc/2018/03/thane-s-in-contact-with-the-man-who-s-found-missing-flight-mh370.html
DONORS: Please share your details with us, if we find MH370 we will contact you.
NOTE: Nominated recipient Jeremy Pickford is the Producer of The Rock Drive with Thane and Dunc.
Funds raised will be used for flights for Thane and Dunc from Auckland to Mauritius, accommodation and charters/transfers in Mauritius.
MH370 Update 11 April 2018
Hey there good looking. Just wanted to let you know that we are still going through the processes on this.
Basically we have been held up because no one could tell us where to register for the finders fee for finding MH370. And while it is, of course, important to bring the wreckage and it's victims home if at all possible, we want to make sure that you (our backers) are looked after.
The long and the short of it is, after a frustrating week of no answers we have today talked to The Chief Inspector - Malaysian Air Accident Investigation Bureau. He has confirmed that the boat Ocean Infinity is still under exclusive contract to find MH370 and receive the reward (they have been granted a few days extension). Once this contract runs out (mid-late April), they will be able to sign a contract with a new party to search for the missing plane.
He has also confirmed to the correct person to talk to in regards to signing the contract.
Thanks for your patience. We'll let you know when we have more news for you!
