I require funds to complete my manuscript especially in obtaining images from libraries and archives and to hire an indexer.
Auckland
This book is unique, as it presents a history of NZ performing arts from the 1860s to the 1920s and highlights the development of cultural hybridity in NZ. The publisher, Palgrave Macmillan, does not provide funds for images. The deadline for the manuscript in 1 August.
This book has come from my life-long passion for the performing arts and my curiosity about the place of performing arts in societies and cultures. Dance, music and drama have played a central role in the formation of modern New Zealand and yet this history has not been told. A central question running this book is: How have Maori and Pakeha been performed?
I am the sole author of this book.
