Community support for improvements to security in Castle Hill Village.
Canterbury
This is a community funded project for installation of a set of security cameras within the precinct of Castle Hill Village.
Selwyn District Council will not fund such a project, and there was not full consensus within the Castle Hill Community Association committee to allocate a substantial portion of limited budget on this project.
The Committee agreed to put this proposal, based on quotes already received, to the village residents, and see if there is a community willingness for self-funded support to a figure of $8500.
This project will only go ahead if the $8500 is reached. If the final cost exceeds that figure, the CHCA committee undertakes to use community funds to complete the project.
The pole would be set up on a village reserve, near the intersection of Castle Hill Drive and Trelissick Loop. Imagery/footage from the cameras will only be made available to the police.
