For the icing on the cake of our 50 Ks a Day effort, we managed to gather a small crew from our team together with cheerleader, Hugo for a 6km hike of Whangarei’s central maunga, Parihaka.

The Whangarei Branch put in a mighty effort in the month of March, upping their game by committing to moving more and fundraising for our local Northland Rescue Helicopter. We strive for excellence. Given this particular service was involved in the recent tragic ‘Enchanter’ rescue mission, our country has seen first-hand the important role that the regional helicopter trusts play in our communities, and we are grateful to be able to give back to them.

Ka pai te kouto mahi, 50 Ks of Rei, and to our Craigs teams NZ-wide, me mahi tahi tatou, mo te oranga o te katoa! We must work together for the wellbeing of others.

    We are stronger together!

  • Best Week Yet!!

Our 50 K's of Rei team are still going strong, smashing out the kilometres with an impressive total last week! There are only a handful of days left in our challenge, but we aren't slowing down yet!!

We are so lucky in New Zealand to have such incredibly, beautiful 'backyards' to explore and I (Kate) had the opportunity to do just that, by walking the Cape Brett Track in sunny Northland on Saturday. Being out and about in the great outdoors in some pretty rugged terrain, and with the intention of clocking up the ks for our Team's effort was a great time to reflect on how lucky we are to have the regional helicopter rescue services when/if we find ourselves in need while enjoying Aotearoa!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our cause so far, we really appreciate every little cent and look forward to being able to hand it over to our local Heli-Heros soon!

  • Week Three - Consistency is Key!

Another week down in our 50kms a Day challenge and our Craigs Whangarei Team has continued to consistently exceed the 50km target, averaging around 135km/day! Amazing effort guys!

We also hit another milestone, reaching $1,000.00 in donations on Sunday evening. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to that total so far. With over 10 days to go, we're keen to see what else we can add to that figure!

Of course, it really does help that we live in such a beautiful region of NZ, with plenty of wonderfully magical places to explore in our back yard. It really make getting out and clocking up the kms easier.

Well, Week 2 was not exactly one that went to plan with half the office having to isolate due to COVID restrictions! Nonetheless, the team put in a pretty good effort, under trying circumstances and managed to clock up over 850km, bringing our total kms for the first two weeks of March close to the 1,800km! Awesome work, Craigs Whangarei!

Excitingly, we've also received donations of $740.00 for our local rescue helicopter trust, which is so great! Thank you!!

With health and vitality back on our side this week, we'll be looking to increase the kms and the donations for our local Northland Helicopter Trust. Let's see what we can achieve this week!

  • Week One - done and dusted

We are so lucky in Northland to have wonderful outdoor spaces to enjoy, and this week our Whangarei Branch, certainly did that, clocking up over 900kms by running, cycling, walking, going to the gym and generally moving our way to smashing our Team goal of 50kms per day!

Our office being centrally located, the Whangarei Loop is probably the number one location you will see us clocking up the k's, though we have cyclists, cross fitters, gym goers and mountain climbers amongst our ranks too!!
