Summit's Up With Opal

Participating in Mount Everest Challenge 2025

Bay of Plenty

Our team: a group of kind-hearted, semi-willing participants who were definitely not coerced into fundraising through sheer peer pressure and guilt trips. What started as a casual suggestion quickly turned into an inescapable obligation, complete with “motivational” staffroom chats and the haunting phrase, "It's for a good cause!"

Some of us tried to resist—claiming bad knees, mysterious prior commitments, or a sudden allergy to physical activity—but alas, no excuse was good enough. And so, here we are, proudly (begrudgingly) walking for charity, fueled by caffeine, snacks, and the hope that this will be the last time we fall for this trap.

All jokes aside, it’s a great cause, and we’re (sort of) happy to be involved. Just know that next time, we’re demanding a bake sale instead. 🍪😂
