University of Canterbury Joyride Team

Joyya is an incredible organisation that works alongside communities facing extreme poverty and modern slavery in Kolkata, India. They're a manufacturing company that goes beyond ethical - they're transformative. Joyya gives people a spark - good jobs, good support, good relationships - then backs them as they use that spark to change things for themselves, their families, and their neighbourhoods.

Joyride is an annual fundraising challenge which funds their mission. People, schools, and organisations take on a challenge - cycling, walking, scooting, rolling, climbing - any time, any style, any length - and through sponsorship, raise funds that create real change in Kolkata.

As students of UC, we are extremely lucky to have access to an amazing education, strong support systems and countless opportunities. Join our Joyride challenge to help provide some of these experiences to communities in Kolkata!

We will be biking from UC to New Brighton Beach on the City to Sea bike trail and the beautiful new Te Ara Ōtākaro Avon River Trail.
