A Family with bad luck. Father was ‘King Hit’ & Son with ALS. Please help us fundraise for therapy in hope to regain some quality of life.
Nationwide
Wayne Harris, a much loved father of three and an Ex-Detective of 28 years for the NZ Police Force was seriously assaulted on August 15th, 2010. Wayne's head struck a concrete driveway after he was ‘King Hit’ and he was expected to die as a result from the injuries suffered. However he defied all odds, but lives daily with the effects of a traumatic brain injury.
Less than 8-months later, Chris Harris, Wayne's son was diagnosed with ALS, a form of motor neuron disease at the age of 24 and was told that he has between 14 months and 5 years to live.
Even though Chris struggles with daily activities he is remaining positive and determined to beat his diagnosis.
This page is to help us fundraise for an alternative therapy in Australia, in hope to regain some quality of life as conventional medicine has had no benefit for Wayne and offers no hope at all for Chris. As both Wayne and Chris do not have the option to work, this is our only hope to hopefully see some signs of recovery for Wayne and hopefully halt the progression of Motor Neuron Disease from progressing any further for Chris.
