  • FINAL THANK YOU

      4 February 2016

In all a group of 5 kiwis went to Nepal in November where we met up with a group of Canadians who had also been fundraising to help families. We had an amazing time but very sobering and upsetting to see the devastation caused by the April earthquake and the poor conditions many families are living in. They are very philosophical people and make the best of what they have. Ngima Yangjee's home is wonderful and it was a very emotional time meeting her and her family again and seeing what we have helped build. Ngima Yangjee is still quite overwhelmed with the support she has received and I have received a number of emails thanking us - "Namaste Chris and my friends in New Zealand

I hope you are all well there.I would like to say thank you very much for your wonderful help.without your help it is not possible.our new house is like dream for us."

Thank you so much for your support and generosity in helping a very needy family in Lukla, Nepal.

The photo shows us standing with Ngima Yangjee outside the house,

Thanks to your generosity Ngima Yangjee's house has now started. It will be earthquake proof, insulated and also have plumbing for a kitchen and bathroom to be added as money permits. So very exciting. The photo shows Ngima Yangjee and Pasang inside the shell. Also exciting is our flights to Nepal are booked and we leave on November 4th and will get to Ngima Yangjee's village on November 7th. Please do share this page if you now anyone who would like to donate to this cause. Thanks.

  • Namaste from Ngima Yangjee

      8 August 2015

It was with great excitement I sent off the first payment to Ngima Yangjee this week for building supplies. It is starting to be gathered together now in Kathmandu for shipping to Lukla and then out to Ngima Yangjee's village. Ngima Yangjee has contacted me and is overwhelmed with the support she has received and that a real house will be starting soon. Namaste and thank you from Ngima Yangjee

  • Things are Moving Along

      3 August 2015

Things are starting to settle in Nepal. They aren't experiencing many aftershocks and the people are beginning to rebuild and get on with their daily lives. They need tourists and trekkers to return and bring some badly needed income.

Ngima Yangjee's house plans are progressing quickly now. They are clearing away the rubble and starting to prepare the site. She is going to have a two room house that is insulated and earthquake proof and will have an actual floor. This will seem like a palace compared to their original stone cottage. The plan now is to put in place plumbing for a bathroom and kitchen, which may be installed at a later date as funds allow. Ngima Yangjee is so excited.

Please share this site with anyone you know who may be able to help. Thank you for your ongoing support

Just over a week and we are almost half way to our goal. Thank you all for your support and generosity. We have managed to get a message to Ngima Yangyee letting her know what we are doing. They are really struggling with the conditions they are now in and the terror of further quakes. Please share this page with others that may be able to help a little. Thanks.
