Lisa's Bucket List

  • Lisa Fought a good fight

      4 January 2015

    Hi There,

It is with great sadness that I share the news that unfortunately Lisa is no longer with us, she passed peacefully in her sleep on the evening of the 1st of January 2015 in hospital. I am extremely grateful Lisa and family got a wonderful Christmas together but am absolutely gutted she didn't get longer!!

I will still follow through with the mohawk although it will now be in memory and as a celebration of the wonderful lady she was rather then in support of the wonderful person she is. I have booked my hair cut for Wednesday morning as the funeral is Thursday and it seems fitting to make sure I have this ridiculous hair cut for her funeral to show the family and friends how much I cared. I had said I would rock the mohawk for a month when we first set this up and I intend to follow through on that promise so will post the odd photo proof on our facebook page.

I have left this givealittle page set up so that should anyone still want to place a donation it is not too late, this page is linked directly to Lisa's bank account so all monies will become part of the 'estate' as such.

There has also been a page set up to help Lisa's ex-husband Josh support their two boys...this is the link https://givealittle.co.nz/search?q=The+Baker+Boys

My thoughts are with all those affected by the loss of a strong courageous brave lady that fought the battle to live a bit longer and won a family Christmas!

Rest in peace Lisa, you were loved and will never be forgotten!! For the rest of us the world is a little more dull without Lisa in it but I know the night sky is much brighter for having her up there.

Thank you all for your support, I know this meant a lot to Lisa and her family so Thank you.

  • Thanks for helping us dream!!

      12 December 2014

Hi There, Thank you all so very much for achieving our goal in such a short time. I set it at only $1000 knowing its a lot to ask people to give money at a challenging time of year when often finances are already stretched which is why I am amazed at your generosity! Today I delivered a home made morning tea (baked by friends) to the father of one of our donors as I get more nervous about the big cut I become more impressed with human nature, without you people donating I couldn't realistically be telling Lisa to dream big for the memories she wants to leave her boys, parents and husband with when she is gone. Lisa is still spending time with the amazing hospice staff as she gets on top of her chest infection but I am certain she will be home soon. Thanks for helping Lisa dream while she fights a good fight and thanks for helping me feel like I am doing something in a helpless situation!!

You people amaze me!! Enjoy your lead up to Christmas and stay safe. Cheers Jane
