  • Bone Marrow Transplant

      1 May 2015

    Hi Guys

It’s been a while since my last update so I thought I would fill you all in.

Things have been going pretty well, my illness continues to remain remission and I feel the best I have in the last 12months, unfortunately that does not means things couldn’t turn around again quickly.

So with that in mind, and a donor found (from Australia, no Aussie jokes please), I will be heading back to hospital at the end of this week for my bone marrow transplant.

It also appears that I may have become a test case for the medical profession in this country, with research oversees looking into bone marrow transplants to cure auto immune diseases, it appears having leukaemia and Crohns disease is sort of unique, and there is an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

So it will be at least another month in hospital.......wish me luck!!

    Love Sean and the girls.

    Hi Guys

Just wanted to post this update so you all know what’s happening.

Some good news today. The leukemia is official in remission for now, yay!! However the good doctors have decided to attack while the going is good and my second round of chemo starts on Friday.

So another 3 weeks in hospital to look forward to. Thank god for laptops, mini hard drives, movie downloads and tablets!!

    Love Sean and the girls.

  • What's new..

    Hi Guys

Just wanted to post this update so you all know what’s happening.

Firstly from myself, Joanne, Shania and Neela I just wanted to say a big thank you to those that have donated, your love and support means a lot to all of us and has not only been inspirational but exceptionally touching.

    So where am I at?

Well I got my release from hospital on Thursday right before the long weekend, (and in time to see the 7’s), so it is great to be home surrounded by family.

Had a visit to the hospital yesterday and according to the blood test my blood counts are coming back nicely with 3 of the 4 major categories being in the normal range, and the 4th not too far away and improving.

D-day is Thursday, I am booked in for a bone marrow biopsy (not fun) which will see what those nasty cells are up to and where their levels are at, so keep your fingers crossed for good news.

I’ll try keep you all up to date as much as possible, I have to pass these updates onto my good friend Will (who set up the page) to get them posted.

    Love Sean and the girls.
