    Sadly Shelly (Michelle 'Tock' Smith) lost her courageous battle with terminal cancer on Friday 5th February 2016. She suffered a stroke 4 days before and had been surrounded by her friends and family 24 hours of those 4 days. She was never alone which was her big wish and we laughed and cried and listened to her favourite music. She even had a visit from her furry babies Casper and Sheba. No more pain and there is another angel to watch over us. Sincere condolences to her husband Leslie and her children Courtney and Ben. Thanks to everybody who contributed in any way to making her the happiest bride in the world on Jan 9th. We will forever remember that smile. Thank you to the Totara Hospice staff, you are amazing people and made her comfortable and at peace for her final days. Shelly passed away at 10.30am holding her husbands hand and surrounded by family and friends. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make her wedding day dream come true.   • January 2016 Wedding Fever

    Hi everybody this is Tara, I am Shellys friend. Just keeping you all updated on how she is doing. There have been a few hospital stays making the oncology ward her home for a few weeks at a time whilst getting her pain under control. The latest visit she was out only 2 days before her wedding, thankfully. Shelly and Les finally became Mr and Mrs Smith on Waiheke Island sat 9th. Thanks to those that made this possible and it was the best day of their lives. As I write this Shelly, Les and Courtney are about to go backstage to meet UB40 which was another surprise for them. She is still fighting but under hospice palliative care until they decide what treatments she can start again. Will update again soon.

    Hi this is Shelly. As of the end of September my scan results are positive. Two of the main tumors have shrunk 30% which is good news and 20% of the liver has grown which is only a few mm. So after 3 rounds of chemo and 5 radiation those results were just perfect. So now I am onto the next 3 sessions of chemo and hoping for more shrinkage. I am feeling great and thanking everyone for their support is this long journey. I am not going down without a fight, hoping the cancer dies before I do xx Wedding is booked for January 9th 2016 so lots to look forward to. I will keep you updated on the next semester.   • Shelly Says Thanks

    Thank you everybody for your donations and all the support that you have given and shown towards myself, Les and my daughter Courtney over the past few months. Its been a roller coaster but I am not ready to get off this ride yet. I am currently undergoing Chemotherapy and radiation therapy and am waiting for the results of those treatments in a few weeks from a scan. I will update everybody when I know more. In the meantime I am having the time of my life and living each day to the fullest and creating memories with my friends and family.
