I am the grieving mother of an angel baby who wants to help others suffering a similar experience by bringing Cuddlecots to NZ Hospitals.
Otago
Our daughter Adisyn-Hope was born 'sleeping' on the 29th July 2014.
Her short precious life and death has changed me forever, there will always be a part of me that is missing.
I decided that our tragedy and loss had to be turned into something positive in terms of 'paying it forward' for others. I also wanted to leave a legacy for our daughter, a worldly reminder that she was here and that she mattered, that our darling baby girl could make a difference.
This is where the Cuddlecot comes in, this is a cooling unit, internationally recognised around the world as helping parents who suffer the loss of a baby.
This system allows bereaved parents the option of spending time with their baby, it means the baby does not have to be taken away avoiding separation anxiety and the trauma of the baby being transferred to and from the morgue. Most importantly it allows the family to spend every moment with their baby, precious moments where every minute counts! Time allows the family to create an important bond with their baby, whether changing a nappy, dressing their baby, taking photographs, creating memories. This undoubtedly helps families to deal with their grief.
I plan on raising enough money to import two cuddlecot systems from Flexmort in the UK and two moses baskets from Baby Trenz in Auckland.
One will be donated in Adisyn's name to Queen Mary Maternity where we currently live and have met other bereaved parent through our involvement in the Baby Bereavement Group.
Sadly there will be families that will follow us and I want to show them love, compassion, empathy and support any way that I can.
In just over TWO months - 3 October 2015
