NUK KORAKO is RIDING for RENEE TO GET A NEW JAW

  • We are on our way for Renee to reach $90,000

As of today we have $40,000 in Renee’s Surgery Account including both Givealittle and Renee’s surgery bank account. That has only been possible with your generosity, sharing Renee’s story and being part of her journey in some way. The cycle to Bluff took many turns along the inland route with snow, head winds, 1 puncture and some narrow roads with big trucks, but every pedal was worth it. Thank you from Renee’s family, our family and a huge hug and thanks from Renee. This isn’t the end of our fundraising journey it is just the beginning until we make surgery a reality for this 26 year old young woman. Renee’s parents and whanau, Christine and I really appreciate the support you have given Renee. Nuk

Thank you for supporting our “Riding for Renee”. Since departing Nuk has now cycled over 500kms and we are in Queenstown. The weather here is sunny and 14c so it is tropical compared to the snow and ice Nuk cycled through. In the morning we leave for Lumsden with me in the car “ghosting” Nuk while he cycles. He is riding like a champion and I am sure that when we get to Bluff in 3 days, he will have a well earned rest and a coldy. Renee is doing as well as she can and every day we are in contact with updates on the ride and the day. Have a great weekend and we will keep you updated. Ngā mihi nui Christine Korako

Renee Veal is the Granddaughter of the late Doug & Elaine Couch from Rapaki. Her mum and dad are Lynne & Andrew Veal from Rapaki, Lyttelton, Purau. Renee and her whanau are so appreciative of your support, your words of encouragement and your financial contributions. Thank you so much. Cycling from Rapaki Day 1 to today Day 5; I will cycle into Cromwell this afternoon. Tomorrow I cycle to Queenstown, then Invercargill then the last leg to Bluff. I have hit lots of snow & sleet but the weather looks like it is clearing. Cycling is going really well. Chris my wife, is in the support car all the way. From us to you, thank you with Aroha for contributing to this young woman’s surgery.

Now that we are in Level 2 in the South Is. of New Zealand I can ride a lot further as part of my training. Living on Banks Peninsula the hills are proving to be a great training ground. Thank you for all of your donations to date including those from Australia! Both Renee and I really do appreciate your support. Nuk
