I'm running the Auckland half and Queenstown full marathon to help raise money for Lifeline and take action against our rising suicide rates
Auckland
With the highest youth suicide rate in the developed world and suicide numbers increasing year on year, New Zealand is facing a mental health crisis that can't be ignored.
As a volunteer at Lifeline I experience first hand the wonderful job counselors and volunteers do on the phones to relieve distress and prevent suicide but with approximately 10,000 calls received a month and no government funding, Lifeline relies heavily on volunteers and fundraising to keep our phones open.
This year I've decided to take on the physical and mental challenge of the Auckland half and Queenstown full marathon to help raise awareness of the great work Lifeline does and raise money to help us keep answering the phones when people need us most.
Feel free to check out my video for a deeper insight to why I'm running for Lifeline.
Any donation you can give, great or small is really appreciated but if you're looking for inspiration $25 will cover the cost to answer a call at Lifeline which could make all the difference.
Your support will definitely keep pushing me through those difficult km's so THANK YOU!
I'm a volunteer for Lifeline and want to help raise awareness and funds to help us keep answering the phone when people need us most.
