We hope this page will offer a chance to provide support and financial assistance to Hinekura and her family during this challenging time.
Gisborne
On the 8th of March our Family (Waylon and Madia) welcomed baby Hinekura, ever since that day she has been in the NICU.
At first she had issues feeding so she had a feeding tube put it, after that they found more.
At 3 days old she was flown to Wellington along with her parents having to leave their other daughter be cared for by whanau.
After 2 weeks of tests and more to come it has been found she has a vast list of birth anomalies not commonly seen before, her being the only one currently in NZ with her specific conditions.
She is one of less the 10 people in the world.
All these will require extensive support.
Due to this her father has since been off work with no other income to support his whanau
Baby has since returned to Gisborne hospital, there is currently no room at the hospital for her parents to stay with her and they live outside of the city and have to travel into town everyday to be with her in the hospital.
There will be a long journey ahead for our whanau to help support our beautiful taonga. From what we understand there will be many specialist visits which will require baby and her parents to be out of their home town alot.
We are hoping this page can help support her whanau with daily travel and help relieve financial stresses
Aunty to Baby Hinekura and sister of her father.
Help pay for travel expenses for her parents travelling in and out of town everyday to see her and to help cover future out of town travel
HOME! 12 April 2024
Baby has made it home for the first time! So blessed to have her at home finally. She has a bunch of appointments coming up for her eyes, spine and hearing which involve her travelling back to Wellington. But she's home!!
