Hi my name is Tony van Maanen.
Last year I started a fitness journey to improve my health and well being. Over the last 18 months, by placing one foot in front of the other and deciding to make healthier food choices, I have lost 43 kilograms.
I have found with healthier eating and exercise you needed to find a place that accepted you, for who you are and did not judge you for the way you looked or the shape you are in.
So I have decided to raise money for a great charity - Buttabean Motivation (BBM).
"No Excuses" - "No Judgment"
Not only do they provide a safe and welcoming place to train they also help people who are suffering economic hardship through a food share service, social supermarket and financial / literacy courses.
Established in 2014 and founded by Dave Letele, Buttabean Motivation (BBM) helps transform the lives of people in the wider community through a holistic, community approach to wellbeing. BBM has become a beacon of hope for many living in economic hardship, and those suffering from long-term illnesses due to obesity.

I first meet Dave Letele founder of Buttabean Motivation (BBM) at a Body Torque gym. Listening to his vision to help those in need certainly inspired me to continue my fitness journey and to help others in the wider community.
Use of funds
Buttabean Motivation - BBM provides FREE bootcamps & community programmes in Auckland & Tokoroa, a FoodShare service, and have recently opened New Zealand’s third Social Supermarket in Tokoroa to help alleviate hardship & food insecurity.

Our page has officially closed.
I please to announce we collectively raised $12,610 for BBM.
This is a fantastic effort by each and everyone of you and will help so many families over Christmas.
I would like to thank you for the donation and the continual support throughout my journey.

I THANK YOU. Without you I couldn't have done it.
Now it's time for me to take a break over the festive season and lose myself in a good book.
