A fundraising rescue dog coffee table book with stunning photography by Antonia Dawson and evocative stories of rescue and survival.

Nationwide

In a world where you can buy your next best canine friend with the click of a mouse button, it has become increasingly worrying that at the same time, animal shelters and rescue groups are overflowing with the constant flow of unwanted or discarded puppies and adult dogs. What happens to them?

This year, the Chinese year of the dog, I (Antonia Dawson) have made it my quest to find some of these rescue dogs who have found their happily ever after, recorded their stories of survival/rescue and photographed them to produce a colourful, inspirational but most of all awareness raising coffee table book.

This project has taken me from Christchurch to Timaru, Dunedin, Nelson, to Wellington, Kapiti Coast and Auckland to photograph one-hundred-and-one second chance dogs in their forever homes.

THE PRODUCT:

A beautiful hardcover book that will be filled with over 220 pages of gorgeous images of man's best friend. Although more expensive, it is highly important to me to print locally and provide a beautiful 100% Kiwi made product. Therefore I am delighted to say that the book will be printed and bound by award winning Caxton Press in Christchurch.

THE PURPOSE:

A book with purpose - this evocative book will be sure to raise awareness of the many homeless shelter dogs who are still looking for a home and hopefully inspire people to adopt rather than shop for their next canine companion.

GIVING BACK:

A percentage of the proceeds of this book will go to support the incredible work that some of these not for profit rescue organisation do.

The chosen organisation are: Second Chance Dog Rescue, Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue, HURRAH and Saving Hope Foundation.

The book is ready to go into first draft print.

Expected publishing date - early October this year.

Planned copies - 500

RRP - $85.00

But I need YOUR help to make it all possible!!

Thank you for reading <3

Use of funds

All funds will be used to cover the printing and packaging cost of the book so people can enjoy it.

Any surplus fund will be donated to the chosen rescue organisations as this is what it is all about.
