"Within us is the Strength the Patience and the Passion to reach out to our Cook Islands Elderly in Need".

International

Punanga Aroa "A Place of Love" Retirement Village is a VISION dreamt up by many Cook Islanders who have witnessed the heartache of seeing our abandoned elderly people left to fend for themselves in the Cook Islands.

Punanga Aroa will focus on the destitute elderly who are living with no family support, no power, limited water, unsafe living conditions and very little food or income.

Punanga Aroa aim to provide the following:

1. 8 fully furnished self contained units free of charge for the elderly to live their last years.

2. 2 mobile container homes to be placed onsite, if an elderly person prefers to stay where they are.

3. A secure fully fenced complex with 24 hour security and care giver onsite

4. A communal area with all meals prepared for all elderly onsite

5 A fruit and vegetable garden for the elderly to tend to and sell

6. Regular visits from experienced staff of Te Vaerua Rehabilitation Centre

7. A partnership with Internal Affairs for the betterment of our Cook Islands Elderly

8. A partnership with local businesses to ensure the overheads and running costs of the Retirement Village are met.
