2023 Christmas Motorcycle Freak Accident

My partner an I were getting ready for Our first proper Christmas all together with 2 of Our Mokopuna. Our Whanau gifted us a Christmas tree and decorations all ready to set up. Words can't express how excited we were. Our journey to this point has been full of ups and downs. After being homeless for almost 5yrs we finally got a house to call a home. We were slowly on our way back home on the 20th November 2023. When a Child on a Electric Scooter pulled out infront of us out of nowhere. To aviod hitting the Child and hurting him/her we quickly pulled to the side. SMASHING OURSELVES into a parked HEAVY DUTY WORK TRUCK. 2 ambulances rushed to our aide. My partner spent 10days in ICU, almost dying twice. I suffered broken thigh bone n arm. Resulting in a metal rod in my leg and x2 metal plates in my arm. My partner suffered broken toes, broken ankle, broken leg, broken thigh. Shattered pelvis, broken ribs, broken arm n fingers. Resulting in metal nails, screws, poles and bolts being placed throughout his body. He's still in hospital and I'm learning to walk again. Unfortunately my partner has to have another operation or two. Before he'll be even think about learning to walk again.
